Discovery Parks engaged Sort It Water to upgrade and modernize the wastewater treatment system at Coolwaters Yeppoon to ensure compliance, improve treatment efficiency, and mitigate environmental risks.
The existing system was aging and posed risks of non-compliance with effluent discharge regulations, potential untreated wastewater spills, and inefficiencies in sludge management. To address these challenges, Sort It Water designed and implemented a comprehensive wastewater treatment upgrade featuring:

- Three 46,000L Treated Effluent Tanks providing a total of 138,000L storage capacity.

- Sludge Management & Disposal System
- New Sludge Removal System using Geobags for sediment dewatering.
- Three-stage sludge drying process to reduce disposal costs and optimize waste handling.
- Automated sump collection with submersible pump to recover filtrate for reprocessing.
